Residents’ management company delighted with window and door replacement
Residents of the 137 apartments at Linwood Close, in Camberwell, SE London are praising the perfect visual match of the replacement windows recently installed by SEH Commercial in the late 80s properties. The slim lines of the high performance UPVc windows installed maintains the aesthetics of these attractive properties built on the leafy land that was originally London Underground property. The Close is adjacent to a conservation area and includes a wooded area now enthusiastically maintained by the residents.
In addition to complimenting SEH on the window styles installed, the thermal and acoustic performance has also been highly praised with residents recognising the “huge difference” in noise levels within the apartments. Even early in the winter season welcome reductions in energy heating costs are being recorded and this will become even more valuable as the harder periods of the winter arrive.
Bartek Boski is a resident of Linwood Close and one of the Directors of the residents’ management company. “When we secured agreement for the window and door replacement programme our Managing Agents put the project out to tender. SEH Commercial impressed us with their thorough surveys and also their guidance on related aspects such as the fascia repairs, decoration process and the matching designs of windows and front doors. When the project was underway it was found that the old wooden escape balconies were unsafe and SEH undertook this replacement job as well for us so that the site disturbance was kept to a minimum. SEH kept all the residents informed on work schedules and clearly had the best interest of the property owners at heart throughout,” reports Mr Boski.
SEH Commercial contract manager Alex Mirlees supervised the installation teams at Linwood. “It really is a very attractive location but the wooded frames were ready for replacement. The new units with brown finish perfectly matched the old so the overall style and look of the properties is identical which pleases the residents. We have had many comments already that both the noise and heating costs have been reduced.”
