Dating back to the 1930s and opposite the iconic Highbury football stadium, Herbert Chapman Court is part of London Borough of Islington’s Andover Estate, providing social housing to the local community.
The project requirements were to replace the existing steel Critall windows with a new Sapa Aluminium System which would provide thermal efficiency, but being mindful of the building’s heritage, by keeping frame sightlines as slim as possible, maintaining the aesthetics of the former steel windows.
London Borough of Islington worked with SAPA to specify the SAPA Crown Window System for the project and Breyer selected SEH Commercial as the specialist fenestration contractor.
The specification included SAPA Crown Casement Style Windows and French Doors featuring trickle vents, key locking handles and operating multi-point locks. The fenestration upgrade has provided the residential block with a new lease of life with the installation of thermally efficient sealed units providing much welcome insulation and security
