SEH Commercial conservation sash windows show style and efficiency
Belvedere Court is an attractive retirement development in a conservation area in Hertfordshire that required the replacement of the sliding sash windows to upgrade thermal efficiency. The aesthetics had to be maintained to meet planning requirements.
SEH Commercial has installed 35 vertical sliding sash window units that match the original designs but deliver greatly improved thermal performance. The ground floor windows have an attractive arched top sash and this has been reproduced exactly in the new SEH conservation units.
Belvedere Court in Hoddesdon is managed by Peverel Retirement, a major residential property manager. The re-fenestration project was prepared and managed by Aedas Building Consultants and Tom Williams of the Aedas London office selected the SEH product to meet both the thermal and aesthetic criteria. “We had to meet the conservation design demands and bring the window performance up to modern standards. The SEH installation ran smoothly and the staff and residents are really enjoying the benefits. Belvedere should see improvements in heating costs this winter,” says Mr Williams. A new main entrance door was also installed by SEH.
