All great architecture starts with a simple idea. Then comes the inspiration to turn it into built reality.
Wrightstyle work with architects around the world, bringing to life even the most challenging ideas.
Not just one of the world’s most innovative suppliers of complete and guaranteed steel and glass systems. Wrightstyle are world leaders in reinventing what glass and steel facade systems can do.
From large-span or fire-resistant glazing to curtain walling able to withstand a lorry bomb, Wrightstyle are at the forefront of our technologies, pushing the boundaries of what glass and steel are capable of achieving.
Wrightstyle interior and exterior systems can be found worldwide, with a portfolio of examples to illuminate and surprise.
Wrightstyle systems don’t simply protect buildings against the full range of threats. The inherent strength of steel and the optically-brilliant glasses allow architects to think in new ways.
Who are Wrightstyle
Wrightstyle is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of interior and exterior advanced glazing systems, designed to mitigate against fire, wind loading and bomb and ballistic attack.
The company’s systems are fire rated up to 120 minutes for insulation and integration and can be found in commercial, residential and public buildings across the world.
As a leading supplier, Wrightstyle’s systems can meet any specification for interior and exterior doors, internal partitions and exterior curtain walling, with comprehensive test certifications to USA, European and Asian fire standards.
Wrightstyle is unique in the UK in being the only global provider of complete and guaranteed high performance steel and glass façade systems, offering total solutions for complex architectural designs, including:
- large span vertical and sloped glazing
- internal and external fire
- sound protection
- blast protection
The company is committed to the highest level of customer support, and offers a technical advisory service for architects and system fabricators, and can supply fully fabricated, installed on site by qualified Wrightstyle installers, or supply only.
Due to the high static values of Wrightstyle’s steel profiles, large unsupported areas of glazing can be achieved to provide new architectural opportunities incorporating bespoke glazing design.
For example, for Ocean Terminal, a retail centre in Edinburgh’s dockland, the glazed span is over 16 metres in height, with the largest individual free span being over 10 metres.
Wrightstyle’s large span curtain wall facades have the strength to accommodate glass panes weighing up to 450kg, with excellent aesthetic qualities and able to cope with high wind loading.
This meets a trend towards larger spans of glass, but without the visual intrusion of transoms, and Wrightstyle’s technical department works closely with architects and specifiers to ensure the best design solutions can be found, without compromising the safety of the systems.
Wrightstyle’s SG blast resistant curtain wall facade system offers a significant development in the design of blast mitigation glazing systems.
The system provides protection from an explosion in close proximity to the façade and Wrightstyle has live tested its system against both car and lorry bomb attack – 500kg of high explosive, and you can see the video here.
